Gainesway-Sold TAPIT Colt Leads Way For Yearling at Keeneland

A $400,000 TAPIT colt consigned by Gainesway led the way at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale this week, bringing the highest price of any yearling at the sale.

The sixth most expensive horse overall, the colt purchased by JPM Bloodstock as agent is the third foal out of stakes winner Maybe Wicked. That mare won five races overall as one of six winners from six to race out of the stakes placed Something Wicked. Something Wicked also produced Maybe Wicked’s Grade 3 winning and Grade 1-placed full sister Money’soncharlotte and multiple stakes winner Mizzcan’tbewrong.

There are seven more stakes winners and four stakes performers under this April-born colt’s third dam as well with that dam a half-sister to Canadian champion Cozzene’s Prince.

TAPIT has found plenty of success at this sale. Last year’s edition saw him in the results for two of the top five horses as the sire of the fifth most expensive and sire of the foal the fourth most expensive horse was carrying.
