The first of the Gainesway offerings is one of those out of a stakes performing dam as the third foal out of Grade 1 winner American Gal selling as Hip 38.
A granddaughter of TAPIT, American Gal’s first foal is the Curlin filly Weather Delay, who sold for $500,000. Her second is the placed Vanderbilt, who sold for $1.1 million two years ago.
This Whisper Hill Farm-bred filly by Not This Time has seen a stakes update recently with her dam’s half-sister Gata Brazil winning the Stormy Blues S. on June 15. That filly is the fourth stakes performer out of Grade 2-placed American Story, who also produced stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Americanize and TAPIT’s Grade 3 placed Magic Tap. American Story is a half-sister to Grade 1 winners Seventh Street and Reynaldothewizard.
A full brother to Gainesway’s dual Grade 1 winning stallion MUTH sells as Hip 117 to kick off the second day of the sale for the consignment.
Offered for breeder Don Alberto, this Good Magic colt is also a half-brother to the stakes placed Claire’s Charm. Their Uncle Mo winning dam Hoppa has produced those two from her first two runners. This is a strong family with matriarch Beautiful Bedouin on the page. That mare’s Grade 2 winning daughter Wandering Star is a full sister to the colt’s third dam Frayne, who produced the stakes placed March to Victory.
Wandering Star was a stakes producer herself as the dam of Grade 1 winner War Command and Grade 3 winner Naval Officer. Passing on her producing talent, one of the mare’s daughters also produced Grade 1 winner Hit The Road. Another one of Frayne’s sisters is the dam of champion and Grade 1 winner Rollout The Carpet and a third is the granddam of Demanding Lady. That mare produced Grade 1 winner and three-time champion Charles Dickens.
Coming from an illustrious Stonestreet family is Hip 118, a Flightline colt out of Grade 1 winner Hot Dixie Chick.
The Stonestreet Farm-bred is a half-brother to Grade 1 winner Pauline’s Pearl, stakes winner Union Jackson, and stakes placed Marsalis. Pauline’s Pearl’s daughter Cowboytakemeaway continued the stakes producing tradition after the catalog was released when her son Second I D finished a close second in the Iowa Sprint S. on July 4.
Cowboytakemeaway is a 10th generation stakes producer with Hot Dixie Chick’s Grade 3 winning dam Above Perfection also producing Kentucky Derby (G1) and Florida Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming and Grade 2 winner Positive Spirit. In all, there are 10 stakes winners listed on this page alone with three winning Grade 1s.
A Candy Ride three-quarter brother to Grade 3 winner Shotgun Hottie sells as Hip 188 with Gainesway on Tuesday.
By Candy Ride’s son Gun Runner, Shotgun Hottie sold for $1.5 million at last year’s Keeneland November Sale after registering six wins, including four stakes races. This colt’s dam Re Entry has produced four winners from six to race overall with her son Man On The Moon winning two races since the catalog was finalized to take his record to nine wins while another one of her runners has won five races.
Re Entry is a ninth-generation stakes produced with her dam producing Grade 1 winner Sky Diva and stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Quick Little Miss. The Grade 1 form continues even farther down the page with this colt’s Grade 3 winner Gather The Clan producing multiple Grade 1 winner Pure Clan and another daughter of the mare producing Grade 1 winner Finley’sluckycharm.
In all, there are 11 stakes winners and four other stakes performers on this colt’s page.
A filly who has exceptional potential to excel on the racetrack and breeding shed is Hip 191, a Thor-Bred Stables-bred Uncle Mo filly out of Rigoletta.
A Grade 1 winner herself, Rigoletta has proven herself in the breeding shed as well as the dam of Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Battle of Midway and stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Moretti. Her daughter Rigged Smart looks like a smart producer as well with her two winners earning blacktype, led by stakes winner Upper Case.
Rigoletta is a half-sister to the dams of Grade 1 winners Patternrecognition and Mixto. This page continues to improve with Mixto also second in this year’s Dubai World Cup (G1). The pedigree is so strong that only two dams are listed on the page but the form runs throughout the family. The filly’s third dam Romantic Dinner has seen her daughters produce champions Music Romance and Vuelve Ruben M with 12 stakes winners overall listed only under Romantic Dinner’s name.
Hip 200 is a rare offering as the first foal out of three-time Grade 1 winner Shedaresthedevil.
The Gun Runner filly bred by Whisper Hill Farm is a January 29-foaled yearling out of that top-class mare, who won 10 of her starts for $2,777,458 in earnings. The winner of the 2020 Kentucky Oaks (G1), she raced on for two more years including adding two more Grade 1 victories at four. In all, the Daredevil mare placed in the top three in 19 of her 21 starts before selling for $5 million.
Shedaresthedevil is a half-sister to the Grade 3-placed duo of Mojovation and Star of Wonder with stakes performers named under each of her three dams on the page. That group is led by Grade 2 winner and multiple Grade 1-placed Crafty C.T. with eight stakes performers named here overall.
The Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale takes place on August 4 and 5 with each session starting at 6:30p.m. Find the pages for all the Gainesway offerings here.
