Gainesway Presents Strong Group of Yearlings at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga

The Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale has seen Grade 1 winners such as Avenge, Battle Of Midway, and Sierra Leone hail from Gainesway in recent years and this year they’re hoping to add to that total with 21 selling with the consignment.

That 21-strong consignment includes yearlings out of stakes winners, four out of stakes placed runners, and seven yearlings who are siblings to stakes winners with multiple yearlings fitting in both those categories.

The second offered by Gainesway comes into the ring with an active page as Hip 29.

Hailing from the Don Alberto breeding program, this Flightline filly is the second foal out of the multiple stakes placed Moraz. That mare is one of five winners out of Malvinia, who is also the granddam of this year’s Arkansas Derby (G1) second Silent Tactic. That colt was also most recently third in the Jim Dandy S. (G2) to kick off August.

Out of Grade 1 winner Macoumba, Malvinia is a full sister to successful stallion Malibu Moon and half-sister to two stakes performers. The page also includes Grade 1 winners Septieme Ciel, Riviera, The Grey Gatsby, and others.

A Maxfield half-brother to Grade 1 winner Further Ado sells with Gainesway as Hip 82.

Blue Grass S. (G1) winner Further Ado also won the Matt Winn S. (G3) this year and was second in the Tampa Bay Derby (G3) after winning the Kentucky Jockey Club S. (G2) as a juvenile. The colt’s Grade 3-placed dam Sky Dream is also the dam of Grade 2 winner Kimbear from her five winners.

Each of this yearling’s first four dams have either produced a Grade 1 winner or won a Grade 1 herself. Sky Dreamer is a half-sister to TAPIT’s Grade 1 winner Dream Dancing, third dam Beautiful Pleasure a champion and multiple Grade 1 winner with the fourth dam also producing Grade 1 winner Mecke. Sky Dancer is also a full sister to the Grade 2 placed Awesome Sky as one of four stakes performers from seven winners out of To Dream About.

Tiz The Law’s Hip 101 brings multiple updates into the ring when he sells on Monday night.

A son of three-time winning Candy Ride mare Sweetbaby, his Grade 2 winning full sister Fully Subscribed added a second Grade 2 win to her name in this year’s Shuvee S. (G2) after the catalog was released. Touted as one of the best older females in the country, Fully Subscribed also has two Grade 1 placings in 2026. Their 2-year-old half-sister Severely Overpayin was also a winner in her debut a few weeks ago with a 4 ½ length Maiden Special Weight victory at Gulfstream Park.

This colt’s granddam is the Grade 1 winner Rutherienne, who is one of three stakes winners produced by the stakes winning Ruthian.

Gainesway’s next through the ring also sees an update with St. Elias Stables’ Hip 103 selling as Gainesway’s last on Monday.

The colt is out of the winning Noble Mission mare Sweeter Than Wine, whose two of racing age are both winners, led by multiple Grade 2 placed Noble Confessor. Sweeter Than Wine is one of five winners out of the stakes winning Sweet N Discreet. That mare has produced two stakes winners with her daughter Sweet Rebecca most recently winning the Wasted Tears S. The winner of six of her nine races, Sweet Rebecca is also a full sister to the Grade 2 winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1)-placed Sweet Melania. Sweet Melania’s 2-year-old High Official won a Saratoga Maiden Special Weight by two lengths on July 26.

Sweet N Discreet is one of three stakes winners out of West Side Dancer, whose other runners include Grade 1 winner Discreet Dancer and Grade 2 winner Travelin Man.

Bred and raised by Stonestreet, Hip 119 is another who comes into the ring with a sibling update.

Out of Grade 2 winner and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) second Valadorna, the Constitution colt’s half-brother Tuscan Gold most recently won the List Clasico Fuerza Armada Nacional Bolivariana after the catalog was released. He was already one of two stakes performers from three to race out of their dam after finishing second in the Louisiana Derby (G2) two years ago. More recently on the Triple Crown trail, Valadorna saw her TAPIT colt Taptastic finish third in the Arkansas Derby (G1) before finishing third in the Matt Winn S. (G3).

Valadorna is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Complexity and stakes placed King of Glory as one of five winners from five to race out of Goldfield. Each of the four dams on this page have produced stakes performers with the colt’s stakes winning third dam Folly Dollar the dam of Grade 2 winner Springside and a half-sister to three other stakes performers.

The final to sell with Gainesway is Hip 228, the second foal out of a well-bred Justify mare.

That placed mare has illustrious siblings with the six winners out of her dam Mining My Own including Kentucky Derby (G1) winner and Canadian champion Mine That Bird, three-time Grade 1 winner Dullahan, and multiple stakes winning Mine That Star. The blacktype is rounded out by the stakes placed Meistermind to give the mare four stakes performers from her six winners.

Minning My Own is one of three performers out of the stakes placed Aspenelle, whose runners are led by the stakes winning Golden Sunray. The three Grade 1 winners produced by her daughters also include Grade 1 winner Bolo with stakes winners Encoder and Build to Suit also stakes winning runners out of her daughters.
