RAGING BULL’s only Book 3 offering proved to be incredibly popular with buyers at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale when Martin Anthony had to go to $420,000 to secure the colt.
Consigned by Gainesway, the colt’s only sibling to race is KARAKONTIE’s three-time winner Spansive with the pair out of Fleur de Cerise. That unraced Bernardini mare is a half-sister to six-time winner Police Escort and out of Grade 1 winner Cotton Blossom.
Three of the four dams on the page either produced stakes winners or won a stakes with Cotton Blossom’s stakes winning dam For Dixie doing both. That stakes winner not only produced Cotton Blossom but also Grade 3 winner Vicarage.
Other daughters and granddaughters of For Dixie have produced stakes performers as well, with Grade 1 winner Ceiling Crusher among those under her name.
This colt was the sixth most expensive offering by a freshman sire during the third book and follows up a $410,000 colt he had in Saratoga earlier this summer.
There are 17 more RAGING BULLs on offer during the Keeneland September Yearling Sale with the sale running through September 21.
