New Gainesway stallion Anchor Down, a brilliant miler by Tapit who enters stud in 2017, will have a limited number of lifetime breeding rights offered through the Share the Upside program.
A half-brother to Grade 1-winning sprinter Sweet Lulu, Anchor Down ran a near track-record 1:32.90 and recorded a 108 Beyer Speed Figure when defeating Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner Tamarkuz in the Kelso Handicap (G2).
Anchor Down’s Share the Upside fee is $12,500, and breeders will earn a lifetime breeding right after having a live foal and paying the stud fee in each of the stallion’s first two seasons. Anchor Down is also available for $10,000 on standard live foal stands and nurses terms.
“We could not be more excited about Anchor Down’s prospects at stud,” Gainesway president Antony Beck said. “We want the breeders who feel as strongly as we do to be rewarded accordingly.”
