Gainesway Duo Represented by First Yearlings at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga

Gainesway’s first crop sires have five yearlings between them at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale with OLYMPIAD represented by four at the sale and DRAIN THE CLOCK seeing a colt got through the ring early in the first session.

That colt offered by Machmer Hall is Hip 3, a DRAIN THE CLOCK colt out of The Couples Girl and was bred by Luis Coronado and Oscar Olvera.

He comes into the ring with a recent update after his dam’s half-brother Run Curtis Run finished third in the Ashley T. Cole S. on June 28. It was the seventh top three finish in stakes for Run Curtis Run, who is a three-time stakes winner and Grade 2 placed.

Run Curtis Run is one of three winners out of the stakes winning My Magic Moment, who was Grade 3 placed herself. This family also includes stakes winner Coachella Valley one generation back.

OLYMPIAD’s first through the ring is Hip 81, a filly offered by Scott Mallory on behalf of Determined Stud.

This is the first foal out of winning Flatter mare Determined Truth, who is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winning Perfect Alibi and Grade 2-placed Noble Thought. In all, the trio are among the six winners out of stakes winner No Use Denying.

This is a stacked family from start to finish with the filly’s third dam producing three stakes performers and her fourth dam producing two stakes winners. Their daughters also have plenty of stakes performers under their names with Grade 1 winner Missed The Storm the granddam of Grade 1 winner Bronx and Grade 2 winner Global Big and two other mares on the page the dams of Grade 3 winners Cloud Scapes and Right On Cue.

The filly’s page has 21 stakes performers overall with three of those winning Grade 1 winners.

Bred by Hunter Valley Farm is Hip 108, a colt purchased by Ballysax Bloodstock in November and re-offered here.

The colt is a half-brother to three winners from three of racing age out of TAPIT’s Gold Beach. A winning racehorse, Gold Beach is a full sister to TAPIT’s Grade 1-placed Normandy Invasion and to the dam of Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Quip. Gold Beach’s dam Boston Lady is just one of many successful producers on the page with her dam Gay Senorita producing the Group 1-placed Cordoba. Her half-sister Stormy Gal produced stakes winner Derrianne and stakes placed Present Danger with nine stakes performers in all under Stormy Gal’s name.

Each of Gold Beach’s first five dams have produced stakes performers with 28 stakes performers listed under her first three dams alone.

A half-brother to impressive juvenile winner Bobrovsky sells as Hip 110 with Eaton Sales as the first offering of the second session.

The colt is a half-brother to two winners from three to race out of the winning Hay Flo with Bobrovsky breaking his maiden by an impressive 10 ½ lengths at Saratoga on July 24.  Hay Flo is a full sister to the Grade 2 winner Significant Form, whose own stakes winning daughter Opulent Restraint provided an update to the page with a third in the Belmont Oaks Invitational (G1) on July 5. Hay Flo is also a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Hay Dakota.

Bred by Mike Rutherford, this colt’s second dam Church By the Sea is unraced but is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Hello Liberty and stakes winner Pious Ashley. Hello Liberty went on to produce the dams of five stakes performers led by two stakes winners and a Grade 1 placed runner. Another  one of Church By the Sea’s sisters is the granddam of Grade 1 winner Zandon and champion Sol Principe Gris in addition to being the dam of multiple stakes winners as well.

The final OLYMPIAD offering is Hip 206 offered by Paramount Sales out of the stakes winning Simplify and bred by Tony and Michael Holmes.

Simplify is an even stronger broodmare than she was a racemare as the dam of four stakes performers from seven winners. The group is led by dual stakes winner Optionality and stakes winner Simple Surprise in addition to the stakes placed duo of Counterspy and Simply Sovereign. Simple Surprise is a successful broodmare on her own as the dam of dual Grade 1 winner Gunite.

Simplify takes up most of this page, though her multiple stakes winning dam Classic Olympio produced three stakes performers of her own. She is the dam of multiple stakes winner Classify and to the dam of Grade 2 winner Air Strike and multiple stakes winner Home Brew, who was also stakes placed in Abu Dhabi this year.

The Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale kicks off Monday at 6:30p.m. with the second session taking place at the same time on Tuesday.
