It’s set to be a big week for RAGING BULL in New York with four yearlings offered between the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale and the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale to kick off August.
Offered early during the second session of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale is Hip 137, a colt consigned by Warrendale for Mesingw Farm.
The colt has seen multiple updates since the catalog was released with his Grade 2 winning half-brother Andthewinneris increasing his earnings to $374,843. Named Bullfight, the yearling also saw his juvenile half-sister Bonne Fille in at Colonial Downs on July 11.
Hip 137 sees each of his four dams on the page producing at least one stakes performer with three producing stakes winners. Third dam and champion racemare Santona not only produced a stakes winner but also the dam of Grade 3 winner and Grade 1-placed Lago En El Cielo and Grade 3-placed Toque Y Rotacion in addition to this colt’s own granddam, who produced a stakes performer as well.
Less than a week later, attention switches to the Fasig-Tipton New York-Bred Sale, where all three of RAGING BULL yearlings come during the second session.
The New Hill Farm is the first consignor to offer one by the stallion when they send Hip 461 through the ring – a colt out of Dulcita.
The colt’s Freud dam was a winner on the track herself and is a half-sister to the stakes winning Dr. Blute. This is a strong New York family with the colt’s granddam Truss a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Khancord Kid. That mare produced Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) winner Bar of Gold and the multiple stakes winning Spirit of St Louis in addition to the stakes placed duo of Land Mine and Homeland.
The page also includes stakes winners and sires Yankee Gentleman and Half Ours, among the 16 stakes performers named.
A few hips later, the stallion’s colt out of Elusive One sells with Taylor Made Sale Agency as Hip 467.
Elusive One not only is a stakes performer, but also produced the stakes-placed Bourbon Heist among her three winners from three to race. Elusive One herself is a half-sister to the stakes winning Explain as one of six winners out of Restless One. All three dams on the page have produced at least one stakes performer with family also including Grade 1 winner Believe You Can and Grade 2 winners Itsaknockout and Classic Elegance.
In all, there are 10 stakes winners and eight other stakes performers under his first three dams.
The only filly on offer by RAGING BULL is Hip 554 offered by Gainesway.
This is the first foal out of the winning Palace Malice mare Mirabell Mei, who comes from a strong stakes family. Mirabell Mei is a half-sister to the stakes-placed Barriles and is a granddaughter of multiple Grade 3 winner Santa Catalina. That mare produced Grade 1 winner Golden Missile and the dam of Grade 3 winner Flexibility in addition to the dam of Grade 3 winner and multiple Grade 1 placed Cat’s Away.
The Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale takes place on August 5 and 6 with the New York-Bred sale scheduled for August 11 and 12.
