Buyers have four chances to buy the first yearlings by RAGING BULL on Tuesday when the yearling season kicks off with the Fasig-Tipton July Sale.
The first through the ring is Hip 5, a filly consigned by C & S Thoroughbreds. Out of the five-time winning Star Cat mare Angel Choir, the Cove Springs-bred filly is a half-sister to one winner from three to race. Angel Choir is out of the stakes winning and Grade 3-placed Midwife and is a half-sister to six winners, led by Grade 2-placed Quail Hill.
Three of the four dams on this page either have produced a stakes performer or the dam of a stakes performer in the case of stakes placed fourth dam Hello Nat, who saw her daughter produce a multiple stakes winner.
Offered by Blake-Albina Thoroughbred Services, Hip 11 is the second foal out of the Tiznow mare Begonia, who is out of the stakes winning Somme.
Somme produced four winners of her own, led by the stakes performing War Baby. The mare is one of two stakes winners and three stakes performers out of Williow Bunch, who herself is one of three stakes winners out of the stakes winning Green Desert mare Golden Mirage.
In all, there are 11 stakes performers led by nine stakes winners on the page. Golden Mirage is also one of two stakes performers for her own dam.
Out of the stakes placed Dynamizzen comes Hip 25, a filly bred in Pennsylvania by Blackstone Farm.
The Taylor Made Sales-offered filly is a half-sister to two winners from three to race and sees stakes performers under three of her four dams on the page. Her fourth dam is the successful broodmare Pharlette, whose daughters include Aletta Maria.
Aletta Maria is the dam of Grade 1 winners Cetewayo and Dynaforce with nine stakes winners under her name alone among the 25 stakes performers on the page.
The final yearling for RAGING BULL at this sale is Hip 241 out of the five-time winner Showcase Winner.
Bred by Heather Irvine, the Paramount Sales-consigned filly is a granddaughter of the Storm Cat mare Showcase. The dam of five winners from five to race, Showcase is a full sister to Grade 1 winner Tactical Cat and Grade 2-placed Storm Passage. Stakes success runs through the generations with this colt’s stakes winning fourth dam also a half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Mia Dancer.
The seven runners by Dark Angel sons out of Elusive Quality mares like this colt include the Group 3-placed Motakhayyel. Dark Angel himself bred to Elusive Quality mares has five winners from six runners, led by the stakes winning Musetta.
The Fasig-Tipton July Sale’s only session starts at 10am ET on Tuesday.
