First Mares in Foal to MUTH Debut at Keeneland November

The only son of Good Magic to win Grade 1s at two and three, MUTH was popular with breeders during his first season at stud. Twenty-three of his mares bred will be on offer to breeders who didn’t get a chance to breed to the stallion during next month’s Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale.

A supplemental entry is the first through the ring for MUTH when Precious Dixie sells as Hip 221.

The mare’s juvenile has made her a broodmare to watch with Final Score winning both the Bourbon S. (G2) and With Anticipation (G3) this year. He is one of two winners for the mare from three to race with her second foal being the three-time winning Dixie Fury. The mare is also the dam of a Good Magic yearling colt who sold for $230,000 in September and a Cody’s Wish weanling.

Out of Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Princess Haya, Precious Dixie is a half-sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Lady Kate, Grade 2-placed Prince of Arabia and Bernard Shaw, and Grade 3-placed Princess Theorem from her five winners with the fifth being Precious Dixie.

Gainesway offers the multiple placed War Front mare African Waters as Hip 671

A $1.2 million yearling who was bred by Gainesway, the mare is carrying her first foal after a career that saw her hit the board in half of her eight starts. She is a half-sister to nine winners from 10 to race out of A.P. Indy’s stakes winning Vaulcluse, who also produced Canadian champion Lukes Alley and stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Arrifana. As a broodmare, Arrifana is already the dam of 2025 juvenile Late Night Text, who is stakes placed.

This family also includes Group 1 winner Elusive City and Coup de Fusil among many others with 22 stakes performers under African Waters’ first four dams.

A stakes winning daughter of Practical Joke, Howl, sells with Airdrie as Hip 817.

Carrying to MUTH on a March 20 cover, Howl won the Safely Kept S. at Laurel in her second start and retired with three top three finishes in five starts before her retirement. She is one of four winners from five to race out of How, who is a two-time winning half-sister to multiple stakes placed Capricious. This mare’s third dam is the Grade 2 winning With A Wink whose descendants include Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Anarchist and Grade 3 winners Cookie Dough and Raja’s Shark.

Each of Howl’s first six dams have all produced at least one stakes performer each with four producing stakes winners.

The dam of Grade 3 winner Five Star General sells as Hip 924 with Taylor Made.

Party of Interest saw her son Five Star General win seven stakes in his 13 wins overall. In all, the winning daughter of Bernardini is the dam of three winners from five runners with her 4-year-old filly Chantilly Road winning a second race in September to take her record to five top three finishes in 10 starts after bringing $390,000 as a 2-year-old.

Party of Interest is a half-sister to the multiple Grade 3 winner Criminologist, Grade 2-placed Rescue Squad, and stakes placed Party Now among the five winners out of Grade 3 placed Search Party. That mare’s daughters have also produced Grade 3 winners Inspector Lynley, Tammy The Torpedo, and Seek and Destroy among the 11 stakes producers under Search Party’s name.

This family also includes Grade 1 winners Carriage Trail and champion Gran Fortaleza.

Hip 1812 is the stakes producing Scenic Road selling with Gainesway.

A 10-year-old full sister to Grade 3 winner Guest Suite, the mare is the dam of stakes placed Bolt d’Oro colt Bolt of Aurum with her 3-year-old full sister to that one also winning this year. In all, Scenic Road has two winners from three to race with a yearling full brother to that duo and a TAPIT weanling colt as well.

Scenic Road is a half-sister to five winners from seven to race out of a winning daughter of the Grade 3 winning Welcome Surprise. That mare didn’t produce and stakes performers but is the granddam of dual Grade 1 winner Raging Sea and the granddam of stakes winner Spirit of New York. A daughter of Weekend Surprise, Welcome Surprise is a half-sister to Horse of the Year A.P. Indy, dual Grade 1 winner Summer Squall, and the stakes winner Eavesdropper as one of six stakes performers out of the mare.

Champion Moonlit Promise and Grade 1 winners Happy Saver and Court Vision are also under Scenic Road’s third dam.

The Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale takes place from November 4 to 11 with MUTH’S first offering coming during the very first session.
