The first mare bred to multiple Grade 1 winner MUTH has been checked in-foal, Gainesway announced Feb. 26.
Indy Business (A.P. Indy – Mining My Business), owned by Paul Pruett and boarded at Tracey & Clay Caudill’s Watershed Equine, has proven herself a valuable producer. She is the dam of Grade 3 winner Quiet Business and Grade 3 winner Itsonlyactingdad, who was also runner-up in the Belmont Oaks Invitational Stakes (G1).
Indy Business is a half-sister to Real Cozzy, winner of the Fair Grounds Oaks (G2), and placed in the Mother Goose (G1), Kentucky Oaks (G1), and Acorn (G1). She is also from the immediate family of Champion Three-Year-Old Colt Real Quiet, winner of the Kentucky Derby (G1), Preakness (G1), Hollywood Gold Cup (G1), Pimlico Special H. (G1), Hollywood Futurity (G1), and placed in the Belmont (G1), Santa Anita Derby (G1) and San Felipe (G2).
MUTH was a $2-million sale topper at the 2023 OBS March Sale, purchased by Donato Lanni for Zedan Racing. At two, MUTH won his debut at Santa Anita by 8 ¾ lengths, the fastest time at the distance in three years, and earned ‘TDN Rising Star’ honors. From there, he won the American Pharoah Stakes (G1) before running second in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1).
At three, MUTH won the San Vicente (G2) before prevailing in the Arkansas Derby (G1), defeating future KY Derby winner Mystik Dan. MUTH is the only stallion to retire in 2025 to win a Grade 1 at both ages two and three. He stands for $35,000 LFSN at Gainesway.
