TAPIT’s U.S. Grade 3 winner Enforceable registered his first Grade 1 victory on Sunday in Peru to become his sire’s 34th worldwide winner at the level when he won the Clasico Jockey Club del Peru (PER-G1).
Racing in the 1 ½ mile dirt race, the gray was one of the top three runners early on when pressuring the front runner before the third horse dropped back. Racing a few paths off the rail while keeping the only runner in front of him honest, Enforceable was neck and neck with his long-time rival coming into the stretch.
That rival took him to the center of the track with Enforceable having to also deal with multiple others making a run at the lead up the inside, but the gray refused to give in and was in the lead by three quarters of a length at the line.
Trained by JH Suarez for Jet Set, the Clearsky Farms-bred has won seven of his 31 starts with 12 other top three starts, including wins and placings in eight graded stakes led by two Grade 1 placings.
Enforceable is a full brother to TAPIT’s Grade 2 winner Mohaymen and Grade 3 winner Kingly with his dam also producing Grade 1 winner New Year’s Day. That dam is the multiple Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Justwhistledixie, who is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and Grade 2 placed Bakken and is one of four stakes producers out of General Jeanne.
In all, TAPIT is the sire of 170 worldwide stakes winners and 333 stakes performers in 13 different countries with his Grade 1 winners coming in three different countries.
