DRAIN THE CLOCK Yearlings Set for Strong Fasig-Tipton October Sale

Grade 1 winner DRAIN THE CLOCK is set to have more sales success next week at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale with 28 entered to sell.

The first by the stallion to sell is the Vinery Sales offered Hip 39 out of three-time winner La Condesa.

Hailing from Cheryl Prudhomme and Dr. Michael Gallivan’s breeding program the filly is a half-sister to the stakes placed runner and seven-time winner Tough Street among three winners from five to race out of their dam. La Condesa is one of six winners out of her own dam with that group including the stakes winning Jazzy Jessy.

This page is filled up by her Grade 2 winning third dam Special Warmth, who has also turned into a bluehen mare. Special Warmth produced the stakes winning duo of Special Power and So Cozy and the stakes placed Wezzo, but her strength comes as a producer of producers. Six of her daughters are the dams or granddams of stakes winners with those named under her daughters including champion Curlin’s Voyage, Grade 1 winners Stormello and Marlin, Grade 2 winners All Bar One, My Best Brother, and Just Rushing.

This Mustang Farms-bred filly’s dam is the Malibu Moon mare Noon Moon, who was unraced herself but produced two winners from her four to race. Appealing Zophie has shown the potential Noon Moon has with the mare the dam of TAPIT’s Grade 1 winner Tapwrit, Grade 2 winner Ride a Comet and Grade 3 winner Inject. The mare has also seen two of her daughters produce stakes performers, led by stakes winner Kenai Bob.

This is a strong family all around with the page also including Grade 1 winners Super May and Ryans Charm and Grade 2 winner Diamond on the Run among others.

Offed by Lane’s End as agent for Coteau Grove Farms is Hip 391, a Louisiana-bred out of Playful Dancer.

Playful Dancer was unraced but has already shown promise as a broodmare. She is the dam of Grade 2 winner Margie’s Intention, four-time winner Helaire, and three-time winner Court Jester from her three foals of racing age. She comes by that talent honestly with her stakes winning dam Dance Hall Days producing six winners from eight to race.

The family is strong all around with Dance Hall Days one of three stakes performers out of Dance Move, who is the dam of Grade 1 winner Cat Moves and granddam of Grade 1 winner Hootenanny. Dance Move has created a strong legacy with her branch of the family tree having nine stakes winners and nine other stakes performers.

Colin Brennan consigns Hip 532 on behalf of Highlander Training Center on Tuesday.

Bred in Louisiana by BCS Thoroughbreds and Kenneth Neil Broussard, the filly is out of multiple winning mare Scarlet Hall. That Graeme Hall mare is the dam of three winners from four to race, led by dual stakes winner Sir Wellington, who has won seven races overall.

Scarlet Hall is one of seven winners from nine to race out of the stakes placed Dance Delight. That mare produced Scarlet Hall’s full sister Emmy Darling, who won a stakes and also produced the stakes placed Gin Riki. Dance Delight is also the dam of the stakes placed Malandrina, who produced stakes winner Jose Manuel. She’s just one of multiple mares on the page to produce stakes performers with the yearling’s fourth dam Legarto becoming a champion in Canada before producing the dam of dual champion Camela Carson.
