DRAIN THE CLOCK Bringing Momentum Into OBS April

A month after he saw his first juveniles light up the ring at OBS March, DRAIN THE CLOCK is back for the OBS Spring 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale with 27 of his 2-year-old going through the ring.

Breezing in a bullet :20.2 on the final day of the Under Tack Show, Hip 1070 is offered by Hoppel.

She earned a big update just last weekend when Talkin finished third in the Blue Grass S. (G1) with that colt out of her dam’s half-sister. Her own dam is the Grade 1 winning Magnificent Song, who has produced four winners led by the stakes placed Declared.

Magnificent Song is a half-sister to four stakes performers out of Song to Remember with the page strong throughout. Others listed in bold on the page include Grade 1 winner Clicquot and champion The Mindfulangel.

Another quarter mile breezer for DRAIN THE CLOCK is S G V’s Hip 921, a New York-bred who stopped the clock in :20.4.

The second foal out of Street Boss mare Hot Street is a grandson of the Grade 2 winning Harissa. Harissa produced five winners from seven to race and herself was one of two stakes performers out of the stakes winning Dynasty. This page also includes Grade 1 winners Western Aristocrat and Carl Spackler among others.

L.G. sent out Hip 450 to breeze in a time of :9.4 this week, just a tick off the Under Tack Show bullet before selling.

The colt is a half-brother to two winners from three to race out of the stakes winning Warrior’s Reward mare Andreya’s Reward. That mare is the only stakes winner for her dam Deal Us In, but she produced 10 winners from 10 foals. Deal Us In is a full sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Cool Ashlee, who produced the stakes winning Sea Ruler and the dam of stakes winner Sir Supremo.

Hip 703 has the family to match her impressive breeze with the half to multiple stakes performers offered by Britton Peak.

Out of the Kingmambo mare Dancing Alone, this $160,000 Keeneland September yearling is a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Dancing Solo and to the Grade 1-placed Dancing. The filly is also a half-sister to the TAPIT dam of the stakes placed Stride. This filly’s own dam is a full sister to Grade 1 winner Voodoo Dancer.

Voodoo Dancer produced a stakes winner and two other stakes performers after her racing career while another half-sister is the dam of Grade 1 winner Pool Play. The stakes performers under this filly’s second dam are impressive throughout with 18 stakes performers led by nine stakes winners.

Hip 940 was another to breeze in :9.4, that filly offered by Wavertree.

A $110,000 Fasig-Tipton October purchase, she is a half-sister to the stakes winning Meadowood and seven other winners from 10 to race out of the stakes winning Into Reality. Into Reality is one of eight winners out of a half-sister to the stakes winning Marquesa Lana, who also produced a stakes winner and the dam of a stakes winner. Another half-sister produced multiple stakes winner Laidbacklynny as well.

Hip 146 comes through the ring with a stakes update after her half-sister’s 4-year-old Formula Rossa finished third in the D. Wayne Lukas S. (G2) in February. Formula Rossa is also Grade 1 placed as one of three stakes performers under this filly’s stakes placed first dam. That mare’s own runners include Grade 3 placed The Truth and K G and stakes placed Francesco Appeal with seven winners in all.

This filly’s Grade 3 winning third dam Tennis Lady is a full sister to Grade 1 Concern and has carried on the success of her family as well. Her daughter is the dam of a two-time champion while another one of her daughters is the granddam of Grade 1 winner Klimt.
