Danny California was much the best in the Miner’s Mark S. on opening day at Belmont. The son of AFLEET ALEX took the field gate-to-wire in the mile and a half contest of the dirt, winning by nearly two lengths in front of graded stakes winner You’re to Blame. The top two finished well clear of the rest of the field. It was Danny California’s first effort in stakes company, coming off a two race win streak at Saratoga and has now earned nearly $325,000. Conditioned by Orlando Noda and owned by Noda Brothers, LLC, Danny California was bred by West Point Thoroughbreds & 3C Thoroughbreds out of the El Corredor mare Cinco De Mayo Mio.
