MUTH proved to be the star of the show at Keeneland November in the first two books when his seven weanlings sold averaged $265,715, led by a $525,000 filly.
Purchased by Donato Lanni from the Gainesway consignment, the filly’s dam Precious Dixie was purchased from this sale carrying the filly for $450,000 last year.
The May-born filly is a half-sister to the Grade 2 winning Final Score and two other winners from four to race out of her winning Bernardini dam. Precious Dixie is a full sister to stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Lady Kate and graded stakes placed runners Prince of Arabian, Bernard Shaw, and Princess Theorem out of stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Princess Haya.
Final Score’s Grade 2 victory made Precious Dixie a sixth-generation stakes producer.
Caitlin Dunne purchased a $325,000 MUTH filly from Four Star Sales for Asagai Stables in the second book.
The filly is a half-sister to a three-time winner out of the War Front mare South Coast. That runner is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Wicked Strong and seven other winners out of Moyne Abbey, who also produced nine-time winner Cloontia. Moyne Abbey is out of the stakes placed Classic Approval, who produced Grade 3 winners Gulch Approval and Rusty Slipper and stakes winner Approval Rating from her four stakes performers and 12 winners overall.
P & B Bloodstock purchased Hip 510 for $285,000, a MUTH colt offered by Heartwood Farm.
Bred by Wolverton Mountain Farm out of Miss City Girl, the filly is the first foal out of that winning Mucho Macho Man mare. Miss City Girl is one of four winners out of her own winning dam, whose best runner is Miss City Girl’s Grade 2 winning City Man.
This family also includes the stakes winning Alwaysinstilettos and stakes placed Always For You with each of Miss City Girl’s first three dams producing at least one stakes winner.
MUTH saw his other offerings bring $225,000, $180,000, $170,000, and $150,000 with 11 more to come in the later Keeneland November Books.
