AFLEET ALEX’s Good Fight won her fourth race in her last six starts on Sunday evening with a 8 ¾ length romp in a Lone Star Park Allowance.
Racing over 1 1/16 miles on the dirt, the gray filly was last early on in the small field with Ry Eikleberry aboard but that didn’t last long. Seeing a hole on the rail in front of her, Good Fight easily galloped up to take on the leaders. With half a mile left to go, Good Fight had her head in front of the former leader and opened up around the turn.
As they raced past the quarter mile pole, it was clear Good Fight had the win in hand. When Eikleberry asked her for a little more, the filly complied and made easy work of that 8 ¾ length win with the third place horse over 20 lengths behind the winner.
Trained by Karl Broberg for Claiming Game Racing, Good Fight has now finished in the top three eight of 12 times in her career.
A half-sister to Grade 3 winner Happy Farm, Good Fight was bred by Rustlewood Farm and is one of four winners from four to race out of her winning dam Gospel Girl. That mare is out of multiple stakes winner and Grade 2-placed Blue Begonia, who is one of three stakes winners for stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Icy Time.
