Registering the second fastest breeze of the day in his last work at Ellis Park, DRAIN THE CLOCK’s Tipoff became the stallion’s newest winner on Thursday with a six-length romp at Remington Park.
Sent to the track for a five-furlong dirt race by trainer Steve Asmussen, Tipoff broke quickly and took command from the start as the race favorite. Racing with a challenger early on, Tipoff left that one in the dust around the turn and it was smooth sailing from there.
Allowed to gallop home easy as he pleased, Tipoff won by a widening six lengths by the time he hit the line.
The Labhras and Breandan Draper-bred races for Clark Brewster, who bought him earlier this year.
This is the fifth winner out of Mineshaft mare Fly Down Too. That mare is out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and multiple Grade 1-placed Fly Down and Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Seafree. Seafree is the granddam of the stakes winning Market Analysis, who is out of her own stakes placed daughter.
Fly Down Too had a DRAIN THE CLOCK filly in 2025.
DRAIN THE CLOCK, who is already the sire of two stakes performers in his first crop, could have a big holiday weekend with his six entries between Friday and Monday including Del Mar Debutante (G1) runner For The Win.
