Young Gainesway Sires Strike Again at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic

Sales successful sales continued this week for Gainesway’s first crop sires with both DRAIN THE CLOCK and OLYMPIAD seeing juveniles sell well at the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic May 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale.

The sire of a winner from his first runner, DRAIN THE CLOCK has been a hit at all the Spring sales and this one was no different.

His top offering was a $500,000 colt purchased by St Elias Stables from Grade One Investments.

The colt is a half-brother to the winning Silent Rage, who had an earnings increase after the catalog was released with the duo out of La Bomba. That mare is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winning Golden Ticket and stakes placed Carlito’s Dream with her dam producing six winners from eight to race overall, including the dam of the stakes placed Naa Dudette.

This family also includes the Grade 1 winning Dream Tree, Grade 2 winner Imagination, stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Statuette and others with 20 stakes performers named overall on the page.

Milk River Racing was the buyer of a $300,000 Mason Springs-offered Arkansas-bred out of On Parole.

This colt is a half-brother to two winners out of the two-time winning On Parole. On Parole’s half-brother Birdrun was a Grade 2 winner as one of five other winners out of four-time winner Run Like Marth. Run Like Martha is one of 11 winners for her own impressive dam, whose runners are led by the Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Sovereign Kitty with five of her daughters producing stakes horses.

The third most expensive DRAIN THE CLOCK offering was purchased by LC Racing from Grade One Investments for $250,000.

This Pennsylvania-bred filly is a half-sister to the multiple stakes winning Circle P and stakes winner Sir Rick with her dam Quiet Inferno producing six winners from six to race. Two of those winners also registered updated earnings after the catalog was released. Quiet Inferno is a half-sister to the stakes placed Quinto Sol as one of 11 winners out of her stakes winning Launch a Double.

Each of the dams on this page produced at least one stakes performer with her second dam Launch a Double also a stakes winner in addition to producing a stakes performer. Winning five races herself, Launch a Double is a full sister to Grade 3 winner Spotsgone and stakes winner Turn to Lass. Turn to Lass also produced the Grade 1-placed Portfolio Manager.

MyRacehorse and Pat Hiban went to $240,000 to purchase an OLYMPIAD filly out of Tail Feather from Top Line Sales.

Bred by Sea Horse Breeders, she is a half-sister to TAPIT’s winning Wild Wing from one to race out of her War Front dam. That mare is a half-sister to the multiple Grade 3 winner Pleasant Strike and three other stakes performers from six winners out of Colonella.

Colonella is out of the multiple Group 1 winning Minstrella, who produced multiple stakes winners and stakes producers. Colonella is a full sister to the Grade 2 winning Colonial Minstrel, who produced stakes winners Storm Minstrel and Grand Minstrel among multiple successful offspring.

In all, there are 32 stakes performers under this filly’s three dams on the page.
