MUTH And TAPIT TRICE Set for Big Start to Year

Mares carrying foals from the first crops of MUTH and TAPIT TRICE start the year by going through the ring at the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale in the next few days.

TAPIT TRICE has one representative at the sale when Jennemily sells with Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services as Hip 758 on behalf of Country Life Farm.

The earner of $259,815, Jennemily won five times with eight other top three finishes before retiring in 2022. The mare’s first foal was placed three times as a juvenile last year with 2-year-olds and yearlings yet to come. Jennemily is a half-sister to the stakes winning Dontmesawithme while her half-brother Wish For Peace also won eight races to give her stakes winning dam Paloma Mesa four winners from four to race.

Each of the mare’s first five dams have produced stakes performers, showing the future is bright for this mare.

MUTH sees three mares carrying his first foals go through the ring at the sale, starting with Hip 304 consigned by Gainesway.

Winning two races, Murky was stakes placed at three for three top two finishes in four career starts. The mare is carrying her second foal on a March 7 cover here. Murky is one of three winners from four to race out of the stakes winning Exaggerated, who has seen all of those runners win at least two races. Exaggerated comes by her producing talent honestly as a daughter of the multiple stakes winner Miz United States and a half-sister to the Grade 3 placed duo of Scampering and Ameribelle. This is an active page with multiple horses providing updates in 2025, including Kupuna with another stakes placing and taking his record to six wins.

Hip 463 offered by Greenfield Farms is Three Quarter Time.

A two-time winner, Tiznow daughter Three Quarter Time is a half-sister to the stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Moon Over Miami among the five winners from six to race out of Grade 3-placed Zinzay. This mare has a connection to Gainesway outside of the foal she’s carrying, with her dam a half-sister to the dam of TAPIT’s Grade 1 winner Sandman.

Other blacktype winners under Three Quarter Time’s second dam include the Grade 3 winning duo of She Can’t Sing and Whiskey Decision. One generation back is a strong group of horses in Grade 1 winners Music Note, Musical Chimes, and Mystic Guide with her fourth dam being the champion and successful broodmare It’s In The Air.

Wrapping up MUTH’S trio is Hip 506 offered by Taylor Made Sales.

A Rockport Harbor mare, Whisper Wisdom was a 3-time winner on the track who went on to produce the stakes placed Curlin’s Wisdom. The mare is the dam of two winners from two to race with her current 2-year-old selling for $175,000 at Keeneland September last year. Whisper Wisdom is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winning Connect and the multiple stakes winning Tani Maru in addition to the dam of the stakes placed Mi Chiquitina. The family also includes champion Arma Veloce and Grade 1 winner Backseat Rhythm under Whisper Wisdom’s second dam.

The sale starts at 10a.m. ET daily on both January 12 and 13 with TAPIT TRICE’s lone offering coming on the second day and MUTH seeing his mares sell both days.
