Sunnyday Lightning Newest RAGING BULL Winner

It was a dirt winner for RAGING BULL on Friday when Sunnyday Lightning won a Maiden Special Weight in her second start.

Racing at Delta Downs in the six furlong dirt race, the filly went off as the heavy favorite after a second place finish in her debut. She settled a few lengths off the leader early down the backstretch as she waited for her chance to pounce.

That chance came around the turn when she went wide to confront the pacesetter. She took control in the stretch and was kept focused in the final furlong to win by a length with the third placed runner six lengths behind her.

Owned and trained by Nicholas Latour, the RAGING BULL daughter was bred by Christiana Stables and Royal Oak Farm.

Sunnyday Lightning is the first foal out of the four-time winner Amnicalola. That mare is a half-sister to stakes winner Fly Away Angel and stakes placed In The Paint. Fly Away Angel produced Grade 3 placed runner Sonja’a Angel, who produced two stakes performers of her own.

The family also includes Grade 1 winners Chelsey Flower and Pure Fun and TAPIT’s champion Tapit Girl.

This was the eighth winner for RAGING BULL, whose runners include three stakes performers led by a graded stakes performer with winners on the dirt, turf, and synthetic surface.
