MCKINZIE Keeneland November Weanlings Led by $475,000 Filly

It was another big sale for MCKINZIE at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale when Stonestreet Stable went to $475,000 for a weanling filly.

The filly offered by Grovendale Sales for St. Simon Place is a half-sister to three-time winner Low Society and out of Tiznow mare Love and Respect. That mare is a half-sister to Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Miss Behaviour out of the stakes placed Successful Romance.

This page is a strong one with seven stakes winners and 10 other stakes performers. The group includes Grade 2 winner Twilight Time and Grade 3 winner Magic Broomstick among others.

Jones and Everett signed the ticket for a $285,000 colt out of Helen Marie offered by Gainesway.

The colt is the third foal out of a TAPIT full sister to the Grade 2-placed Royal Obsession. That mare produced Grade 3 winner Clicquot and stakes placed Silver Ticket. Helen Marie is also a half-sister to the multiple stakes placed Jumby Bay. Their dam Rote is a winning half-sister to the Grade 1 winner Magnificent Song and four other stakes performers with one of half-sisters also producing champion juvenile The Mindfulangel.

In all, 16 stakes performers are named on this page, led by four stakes winners.

A mare carrying a foal by MCKINZIE sold for $800,000 during the first session.

The stakes winning Grand Cru Classe is carrying to MCKINZIE on a February 26 cover for her third foal. The mare is one of two winners out of Lemon Drop Kid mare Christmas Lass. That mare is a full sister to Grade 1 winner Christmas Kid, who also produced stakes winner and Grade 2-placed United Nations and stakes winners and Grade 3 placed Christmas and Black Sea.

Another one of Christmas Lass’s half-siblings is the stakes winning Elusive Gift with a third sibling producing five stakes performers, led by stakes winner Double Down Vinman.

Other MCKINZIE offerings at the sale included a $280,000 weanling filly and $210,000 weanling colt with his in-foal mares also selling for $500,000, $400,000, $400,00,0, etc.
