$525,000 In-Foal Mare Kicks off MUTH’s Keeneland November Sale

MUTH’s first in-foal mares were well received during the first two books of the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale this week, led by a $525,000 Book 2 offering.

Purchased by Davis Holdings, Howl is carrying her first foal by MUTH on a March 20 cover. The 5-year-old won the Safely Kept S. at Laurel in her second start and retired with three top three finishes in five starts. Her two-time winning Indian Charlie dam How has produced four winners, following in her dam’s footsteps with that mare producing seven winners. How is a half-sister to multiple stakes placed Capricious and out of a daughter of Grade 2 winner With a Wink. With A Wink’s descendants include Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Anarchist and Grade 3 winners Cookie Dough and Raja’s Shark.

Howl’s future as a broodmare looks strong with each of her first six dams producing at least one stakes performer each with four producing stakes winners.

MUTH’s Book 1 offering Precious Dixie was snapped up for $450,000 by Young Squirrel Stables from Taylor Made.

This mare’s current 2-year-old has put her on the map with Final Score winning both the Bourbon S. (G2) and With Anticipation (G3) this year. Precious Dixie has produced two winners from three to race with her second foal being the three-time winning Dixie Fury. The mare has also shown to be a strong sales ring producer with her Good Magic yearling colt selling for $230,000 in September.

She’s the latest stakes producer from a strong family with her dam being the Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Princess Haya. That mare produced stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Lady Kate, Grade 2-placed Prince of Arabia and Bernard Shaw, and Grade 3-placed Princess Theorem from her five winners.

There are a further 16 stakes performers under Precious Dixie’s third dam with six winning stakes.

MUTH has more to come at the November Sale with 23 in foal to the stallion cataloged to sell during the week-long sale.
