TAPIT Daughter Sells for $850,000 at Fasig-Tipton

The only TAPIT on offer at the Fasig-Tipton November Sale was in high demand Monday night when The Nightingale sold for $850,000.

Snapped up by Erdenheim Farm Thoroughbreds from Hill ‘n’ Dale at Xalapa as agent, The Nightingale is a full sister to TAPIT’s stakes placed Biblical and a half-sister to four-time Grade 1 winner Princess of Sylmar, who has already produced a stakes winner from her three winners. But even more importantly for buyers, The Nightingale is the dam of the stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Bless The Broken, who is her second foal. That 3-year-old is joined by Because the Night as two winners from two to race out of her dam with The Nightingale also the dam of a Quality Road 2-year-old.

The mare has a weanling colt by Jackie’s Warrior and is bred to Curlin.

In addition to her own siblings, her stakes-placed dam’s half-sister is the dam of champion Youcan’tcatchme and to Grade 3 winner Rhythm Band and Grade 3-placed Musical. In all, three of her sisters have produced stakes horses as well.

The cross the foal she is carrying is bred on is a successful one for TAPIT as a broodmare sire with champion Cody’s Wish and multiple graded stakes winner Tenfold two of six stakes performers from 38 runners bred on it.
