DRAIN THE CLOCK Yearlings Headed to Keeneland September

Finding plenty of success at the summer yearling sales, DRAIN THE CLOCK is set for some more strong results at this year’s Keeneland September Yearling Sale with 46 on offer throughout the 12-day sale, including six in Books 2 and 3.

Hip 454 offered by Paramount Sales is the second foal out of Hard Spun mare Outkickthecoverage.

Outkickthecoverage is out of a successful racemare in three-time stakes winner Callmethesqueeze, who won seven times before becoming the dam of four winners. Her best in that group is Alabama S. (G1) winner Power Squeeze and stakes winner Call On Mischief. Callmethesqueeze is still adding to the page as well. Her 2-year-old Fulleffort is already placed in two starts.

The family points to Outkickthecoverage having plenty of producing talent with each of her first six dams producing stakes horses.

Vinery Sales offers Hip 1020, the third foal out of a winning Take Charge Indy mare.

Bellissima Indy saw her first foal win on debut to become the latest producer for her family. The mare is one of three winners out of Brucie alongside Grade 2 placed Majestic Slew and Grade 3 placed Awesome Saturday with 11 stakes horses under Bellissima Indy’s granddam including four produced by the mare.

This colt is bred on a very similar cross to multiple Grade 1 winner Jackie’s Warrior and Grade 3 winner Dance to the Music among 11 stakes performers by Maclean’s Music out of A.P. Indy granddaughters.

A half-sister to three stakes performers sells as Hip 1391 with Straight Line Equine Sales during the third book of the sale.

The Ohio-bred filly is out of the winning Grand Appointment mare Windsail, who produced stakes winner Windy Lu Who and the stakes placed Angel’s Sassy and Maleah among her four winners from four to race. Windsail is a half-sister to stakes winner Stormy Amber, who is also the granddam of a stakes performer.

There are stakes performers under all four dams on this yearling’s page with third dam Romanticat producing Grade 1 winner Things Change and the dam of Grade 2 winner Hero of Order. Romanticat is also a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Harlan.

Hunter Valley offers Hip 1469 in their consignment, a filly out of a granddaughter of the successful broodmare Love Me True.

That granddaughter is the Tiznow mare Celestial Smile, whose three winners from three to race include Grade 2 winner Idratherbeblessed. That stakes success made Celestial Smile a ninth generation stakes producer with those producers passing along their talent including bluehen Lassie Dear. Lassie Dear is the granddam of Group 3 placed Love Me True, who had producing talent of her own with six stakes performers including champion Duke of Marmalade and Group 1 winner Ruler of the World. Celestial Smile is out of Love Me True’s Grade 3-placed daughter Countess Lemonade.

The second foal out of a half-sister to Grade 2 winner Caribou Club sells as Hip 1857 with Sequel New York.

This colt’s Super Saver dam Bonny Bell’s first foal is a MCKINZIE filly, who is registering multiple works at Churchill Downs this summer, including a bullet. Bonny Bell is out of multiple Grade 3 winner Broken Dreams, who produced four winners including Fly The W. Fly To The W provided an update to the page when he won for the 21^st time this year. One of two stakes winners for her own dam, Broken Dreams is a granddaughter of Grade 1 winner One Dreamer.
