Six For DRAIN THE CLOCK at Fasig-Tipton February

Grade 1 winner DRAIN THE CLOCK has six representatives at this year’s Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale on Monday, February 3.

His first through the ring comes early in the sale when Vinery Sales sends Hip 5 out of Kiana’s Dream through the ring.

A West Virginia-bred hailing from the Dr. Maurice Casey III breeding program, the filly is a half-sister to two winners out of a winning Sky Mesa full sister to Grade II-placed Join In The Dance. Kiana’s Dream is also a half-sister to the stakes placed Cuyathy, who produced Grade 1 winner Johannes. There is strong stakes form under multiple daughters of Dance Darling with Cuyathy joined by the dam of Grade 3 winner and Grade I placed Elm Drive and a third daughter producing two stakes performers.

There are a farther 10 stakes performers under the filly’s stakes winning third dam Danzig Darling.

A half-sister to recent Jennings Stakes third Circe P sells with Vinery as Hip 91.

Out of three-time winner Quiet Inferno, who has produced five winners from five to race, the filly is also a half-sister to the stakes winning Sir Rick. Quiet Inferno is following a family tradition with her stakes winning dam Launch A Double producing the stakes placed Quinto Sol and her third dam producing three stakes winners as well.

Bred by Joan Wilson in Pennsylvania, each of this filly’s first seven dams have produced stakes performers or placed in a stakes with four of them producing stakes winners.

Grovendale Sales is the consignor of Hip 365, a half-sister to the stakes winning Beliveau and multiple stakes placed Super Colerosa.

Their Tale of the Cat dam produced 10 winners from 11 to race, following her dam’s seven winners. That mare’s runners included the Grade 3 winner Bidding Proud. Her stakes placed daughter Beautiful Moment is another stake producer as the dam of Group 3 winner Henny Hound and stakes winners Saturday Hero and Beautiful Treasure. Beautiful Treasure also produced the Grade 2 placed Flying Private.

The colt’s third dam is also a stakes producers with her six winners including the Grade 2 winner Roving Minstrel.

La Bomba is the dam of the Mulholland Springs offered Hip 403, DRAIN THE CLOCK’s final offering through the ring.

The dam of a placed runner from two to race, La Bomba is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Golden Ticket and stakes placed Carlito’s Dream among the six winners out of Deputy Minister mare Business Plan. Business Plan is a half-sister to stakes winner Grand Royal and stakes placed Dubai World as one of three stakes producers out of Grade 3 winner Good Mood. Those produced by Good Mood’s daughters include Grade 2 winner Magical Feeling and stakes winner Sterling Outlook.

Good Mood’s granddaughters and great-granddaughters also produced their own blacktype earners. Grade 1 winner Dream Tree joins Golden Ticket as the top two performers of the 13 stakes performers listed under the first three on this page.

Taking place in Lexington, this year’s Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Winter Mixed Sale is a one-session sale on Monday, February 3.
