Hold Your Breath Second Winner in 24 Hours for MCKINZIE

For the second straight day, MCKINZIE recorded a debut winner when Hold Your Breath won at Parx on Monday.

Trained by John Servis for Main Line Racing Stable and Avalon Racing Stables, the filly quickly went to the front out of the gate in the six-furlong race and controlled the pace from there. Keeping a safe lead early, when jockey Abner Adorno asked her to extend, she was ready.

In the stretch, she steadily built up a four-length margin with the third placed runner 8 ½ lengths behind her.

A $135,000 short yearling, Hold Your Breath was bred by Highclere, Constance Wickes, and Rocky Top Racing.

The filly is a half-sister to the stakes placed My Sweet Affair and out of a three-quarter sister to Grade 1 winner Shakin It up and Grade 3 winner Govenor Charlie. Hold Your Breath is a granddaughter of champion Silverbulletday, whose daughters have produced five stakes performers between them.

The sire of 19 winners, MCKINZIE leads all freshmen by earnings, Grade 1 winners, Grade 1 performers, graded stakes winners, and graded stakes performers in 2024.
