TAPIT’s Pure Majestic Second Stakes Winner of Day for Gainesway

For the second time in only a matter of hours, TAPIT registered a stakes winner when juvenile Pure Majestic won the Selima S. at Laurel Park.

Making her stakes debut one start after breaking her maiden, the John Robb trainee was first out of the gate and soon entered a duel for the lead in the one-mile dirt race. Inching away from her rival, the gray set a comfortable lead under Jevian Toledo and was never headed.

Toledo asked the filly for more at the quarter pole and she picked up the pace to open up a few lengths on the field. It wasn’t easy from there, however, with another runner closing in the stretch. Pure Majestic still had plenty of distance between herself and the runner up at the line however, winning by 1 ¼ lengths.

Owned by No Guts No Glory Farm and bred by the Tapit Syndicate and Sabana Farm, Pure Majestic was sold by Gainesway at last year’s Fasig-Tipton October Sale.

Pure Majestic is a three-quarter sister to the Grade 2 winner Tonalist’s Shape and one of three winners from five to race out of the stakes winning Hitechnoweenie.  That mare is out of another stakes winner in Hi Tech Honeycomb.

In all, there are stakes winners under each of the four dams listed on Pure Majestic’s page including her stakes winning first and second dams.

Pure Majestic joins Tapit Trice as stakes winners for TAPIT today with that colt winning the Woodward S. (G2) two hours before her victory.
