The first through the ring for the first crop sire is Hip 12 from Paramount Sales. That filly is the first out of Buy Me a Rose, an unraced half-sister to TAPIT’s multiple graded stakes placed Tap For Luck. Another one of Buy Me a Rose’s half-sisters is the dam of Grade 2 winner and Grade 1-placed Jeltrin and two other stakes performers.

Bred by Charles Kidder and Nancy Cole, this filly was sold for $200,000 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky February Mixed Sale earlier this year as the highest priced short yearling by a first crop sire and third highest short yearling overall.

The first foal out of multiple graded stakes placed Classy Act is Hip 21, consigned by Indian Creek. The MCKINZIE colt’s family also includes the champion Tempera and multiple graded stakes winner and Grade 1 placed Equerry. Each of this colt’s first four dams have either produced stakes performers or have blacktype themselves.

Hip 63 offered by St George Sales received an update when TAPIT’s Grade 1-placed Fort Bragg won the Dwyer Stakes (G3). That colt is out of this filly’s dam’s half-sister March X Press though her own dam is also an accomplished racemare. A stakes winner on the track, Harlan’s Honor also produced the stakes placed Song River. Harlan’s Honor and Fort Bragg’s stakes winning dam March X Press are both stakes winners out of the stakes placed Indian Rush.

Bred by Jackpot Farm and sold for $170,000 as a weanling last November by Gainesway, this filly sees stakes performers under each of her four dams on the page.

Coming from Runnymede Farm is Hip 85 out of three-time winner Koala Queen. That mare is also the dam of stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Koala Princess. Koala Queen is a half-sister to three stakes performers and to the dam of Grade 1 winner Collected and the granddam of stakes winner Artilena.

This is also the extended family of champion racehorse and leading sire Blushing Groom and Japanese champion Agnes Digital among many others.

Gainesway offers a MCKINZIE half-sister to dual Grade 1 winner Rock Fall as Hip 141 on behalf of Bridlewood Farm. Her dam is the multiple stakes winning and Grade 2-placed Medaglia d’Oro mare Renda, who has produced three winners from five to race.

Renda is also a half-sister to the dam of multiple stakes winner Allnight Moonlight with all four dams on the page producing at least one stakes performer.

Paramount Sales sends Hip 162 through the ring with multiple updates under her first dam.

A stakes performer herself, Sky Copper produced stakes winner Sky’s Not Falling and the stakes placed duo of Street Copper and Sky Magician among her seven winners. Sky’s Not Falling added a third in the Prince George’s County Stakes to his impressive resume while Street Copper added a 16th placing to his 37 starts to take his earnings to over $285,000.

All four of the filly’s dams on the page have earned blacktype with three winning stakes and three of the four also producing stakes performers as well.

A half-sister to multiple Grade 1 winner Cave Rock is the dam of Hip 187 from Gainesway selling on the final day of the sale.

The colt is the first foal out of the three-time winning Take Charge Angel with that mare out of the Grade 3 winning Georgie’s Angel. Stakes producers run deep on this page with all three of his dams who have racing age foals producing at least one stakes winner. Two of those dams also won stakes themselves.

Hip 187 has already been through the ring once in his life, selling as a weanling to Davant Latham for $300,000 at Keeneland November. That was the second highest priced weanling sold by any first crop sire at that sale.

Both sale sessions start at 6:30p.m. on August 7 and 8 with Hips 1 – 118 selling on Monday and 119 – 235 on Tuesday.
