It was a sales topping offering for Gainesway on Monday when Malleymoo sold for $550,000 to share the top spot with a TAPIT daughter.
Purchased by Steve Young, the lightly raced 3-year-old Malleymoo earned a big update on June 2 when she won the Listed Penn Oaks in gate-to-wire fashion. It was the second stakes placing for the English Channel daughter, who also finished second in the Wait a While Stakes as a juvenile last year.
“She is a beautiful filly,” Young told Thoroughbred Daily News. “She had a couple of rough trips at Gulfstream and has improved basically every start of her life. She’s a nice horse. And we think she’ll get better as she gets older.”

Young said that Malleymoo is headed to Todd Pletcher and will likely run in a stakes late in the Saratoga meet.
Gainesway also sold Stellar Lady for $280,000 to Amy Moore as the 10th most expensive offering at the sale.
Third over the weekend in the Iowa Oaks (G3), Stellar Lady was already stakes placed before that start in the My Trusty Cat Stakes as a juvenile and came into the Iowa Oaks off an Allowance victory. Stellar Lady is one of two stakes performers for Stellar Baby alongside the stakes winning Killer Bird with one of her half-sisters also producing stakes winner You Look Cold.
In all, Gainesway sold four horses at the sale with the consignment bringing an average of $285,500 and median of $240,000 – both nearly $200,000 more than the sale average and median.
