It was a second straight stakes victory for TAPIT daughter Pauline’s Pearl on Sunday when the 4-year-old filly won the Houston Ladies Classic Stakes (G3) by 3 ¾ lengths.
A heavy race favorite, the Stonestreet Thoroughbreds homebred raced just two lengths behind the pacesetting The Mary Rose in the 1 1/16 mile dirt race under Joel Rosario. In third for much of the middle running, Pauline’s Pearl was piloted wide around the far turn and the chase was on.
Racing down the stretch, Pauline’s Pearl showed why she has three stakes victories to her name as she easily took over in the final furlong. From there, it was all about extending her lead – something she did easily – to win going away.

Joining a winner’s list that has included Letruska, Lady Apple, Midnight Bisou, and Forever Unbridled, Pauline’s Pearl’s $235,200 winner’s share pushed TAPIT over the $179 million earnings mark.
Pauline’s Pearl has been a consistently good daughter of TAPIT with seven stakes placings in eight stakes starts for $968,500 in earnings with her other graded stakes victory coming in last year’s Fantasy Stakes (G3).
The 4-year-old is one of two stakes winners out of Grade 1 winner Hot Dixie Chick alongside the multiple stakes winner and graded stakes placed Union Jackson. Hot Dixie Chick herself is one of two Grade 1 winners for the Grade 3 winning and Grade 1-placed Above Perfection, who also produced Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming and Grade 2 winner Positive Spirit.
Hot Dixie Chick again visited TAPIT last year for a full sibling to Pauline’s Pearl.
Pauline’s Pearl is one of 94 graded stakes winners for TAPIT, who has 150 stakes winners and 287 stakes performers overall.
