$500,000 Filly for MCKINZIE at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga

Buyers only had two chances to buy yearlings by MCKINZIE at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale and Amo Racing jumped on the chance, buying a $500,000 filly by the stallion.

Offered by Bluegrass Thoroughbred Services, the filly is out of the winning Carpe Diem mare Scolding and was bred by John D. Stuart and A. R. Enterprises. This was the first time through the ring for the filly, whose half-brother was placed in his only start as the first foal out of their dam.

Scolding is one of seven winners out of Rebuke, who also produced Grade 3 winner Pilot Commander and stakes winner and Grade 3-placed Freedom Flyer. The mare’s three-time winning daughter Recoupe also produced the stakes placed Compensate.

This family has plenty of producing ability with Rebuke one of five stakes producers out of Reboot. Reboot produced multiple stakes winner Summer Cruise and Group 1-placed Rebuttal with Summer Cruise going on to produce Grade 3 winner Sandbar and stakes placed Cruzette.

Others produced by Reboot’s daughters include champion Trafalgar and multiple stakes winner Kimchi Cat, plus Grade 3-placed Phenomenal Phoenix.

Scolding returned to a Gainesway stallion this year, visiting MUTH in his first season.

The sire of two crops of racing age, MCKINZIE is holding his own among all North American stallions with his six stakes winners 17th best in the group while he leads all second crop sires in multiple categories as well.
