$450,000 Mare for OLYMPIAD at Keeneland November

A $450,000 mare led OLYMPIAD’s first in-foal mares at the Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale when Rock Ridge Thoroughbreds won the bidding war in Book 1.

Consigned by Gainesway, Arrifana is a stakes winning Curlin mare who finished second in a Grade 3 as well. One of eight winners from eight to race out of the stakes winning Vaulcluse, she is one of two stakes winners out of that mare with Vaulcluse also producing Canadian champion and Grade 1 winner Luke’s Alley.

A strong family stands behind Arrifana, whose multiple stakes winning third dam Liturgism is the matriarch of a family that includes nine stakes winners and five other stakes performers. In addition to Lukes Alley, Grade 1 winner Elusive City has won at the top level.

OLYMPIAD was one of the top horses of his generation with his five graded stakes including the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1). He concluded his career with a second place finish to Flightline in the Breeders’ Cup Classic.
