The nation’s leading sire Tapit got his 20th TDN Rising Star on Aug. 27 when the regally-bred Life’s Blessings powered to a 4¼-length victory in a 5½-furlong maiden special weight contest at Del Mar.

The 2-year-old filly was off a beat slow but made up good ground on the backstretch and was sitting patiently behind the leading trio until the top of the stretch, when she professionally split horses to assume command and draw off in the stretch (VIDEO).

Life’s Blessings is out of Indian Blessing, the champion 2-year-old filly of 2007 and champion female sprinter the following season. Like her dam, Life’s Blessings is trained by Bob Baffert for owner Hal Earnhardt.
