Tapit, America’s leading active sire by lifetime Graded Stakes winners and Grade 1 winners, continued to flash his dominance March 12 at the opening session of the OBS March Sale. Hip 33, a colt by Tapit out of multiple Grade 1 winner Artemis Agrotera, breezed in 10.1 before lighting up the bid board at $2-million. The seven-figure price was the highest of the day and a new sale record. A registered New York-bred, the colt was consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, agent for Chester and Mary Broman. He was purchased by L.E.B., agent for West Point, Masiello, and Siena Farm. Tapit stands at Gainesway for a 2019 fee of $225,000 LFSN.
