Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) winner SPUN TO RUN saw Popeye Stables purchase his filly for $130,000 from Machmer Hall during the Keeneland September Yearling Sale.
Also bred by her consignor, the filly is the first out of the two-time winning Tiznow mare Three Quarter Time. Three Quarter Time is one of four winners out of her own Grade 3-placed dam Zinzay. That mare produced the stakes winner and Grade 1-placed Moon Over Miami with Zinzay’s sister producing Grade 3 winner She Can’t Sing.
Under this filly’s fourth dam Note Musicale is the Grade 1 winning Music Note, whose foals include Grade 1 winner Mystic Guide and Grade 3 winner Gershwin. Note Musicale also produced the Grade 1 winner Musical Chimes among her three winners from five to race.
SPUN TO RUN’s first yearlings have sold for up to $200,000 this year with buyers including Alex and JoAnn Lieblong, Popeye Stables, Lothenback Stables, Dennis O’Neill, etc.
