DRAIN THE CLOCK’s first yearlings realized up to 12.5 times his stud fee at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale this week when Dylan Venosa purchased a colt by the stallion for $125,000.
Offered by Paramount Sales, the colt is a half-brother to stakes winner Beliveau and multiple stakes-placed Super Colerosa. Their Tale of the Cat dam Minstrel Show was a very productive broodmare with 10 winners from 12 to race.
Her own dam produced seven winners with that group including Grade 3 winner Bidding Proud and stakes placed Beautiful Moment. Beautiful Moment also produced Group 3 winner Henny Hound and two other stakes performers.
Lee Rogers paid $120,000 for a Gainesway-offfered colt out of Joeandbetty’sbaby.
The colt is a half-brother to three winners from three to race out of the three-time winning Yes It’s True mare, whose runners are led by seven-time winner and multiple stakes placed Taming The Tigress. This page also includes Grade 3 placed, nine-time winner No Cal Bread as well. The colt’s fourth dam is champion and three-time Group 1 winner So Joyful.
DRAIN THE CLOCK yearlings averaged $80,500 with a $82,500 median. The stallion has another offering at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale as well.
