Tapizar’s daughter Jeltrin pointed to KY Oaks after Davona Dale victory

Filly is third career graded stakes winner for Gainesway stallion

Gainesway stallion Tapizar was represented by his third career graded stakes winner when his talented daughter Jeltrin defied her 50-1 odds to capture the G2 Davona Dale at Gulfstream Park March 2.

The filly caught pacesetter Cookie Dough in the shadow of the wire to win the $200,000 race by a head. Jeltrin completed one mile in 1:36.83 under jockey Luis Saez to earn just her second career victory in six starts and first in a stakes.

“I’m very happy, it’s a good feeling – a dream,” said Alexis Delgado, who conditions Jeltrin for ADR Racing and notched his first graded stakes victory in the Davona Dale. “We’ve been working for three months leading up to this race. Congratulations to my staff and to Luis Saez, it was perfect today, what a great race. I was happy when they were coming down the stretch, it was three months of hard work all preparation for the Davona Dale. It was great.”

Tapit’s leading miler, Tapizar was America’s No. 1 third-crop sire in 2018. Sire of Champion 3-year-old Filly Monomoy Girl and 2018 Sovereign Award finalist Solidify, Tapizar’s overall record now stands at 133 winners, 15 stakes horses, five stakes winners, nine graded stakes horses, and $11 million in progeny earnings. Tapizar will stand for $10,000 LFSN at Gainesway.
