A Fleet Attitude wins battle to take $100K Banjo Picker

Son of Afleet Alex nearing half-million in earnings

A Fleet Attitude raised his lifetime earnings to nearly a half-million dollars Sept. 3 with a gutty half-length win in Parx Racing’s $100,000 Banjo Picker Stakes.

The 6-year-old son of Afleet Alex is now a two-time stakes winner of $489,291 for his owner Morris Kernan Jr.

Afleet Alex’s double-digit number of stakes horses in 2016 includes three stakes winners and the multiple graded stakes-placed Afleet Accompli.

A Fleet Attitude launched his winning move around the quarter-pole, coming from third to wear down Purcell in the final furlong to get the six furlongs in 1:10.01.

The winner was bred by Charles Zacney and Tim Ritchey.
