Empire Maker’s first yearlings since his return to be offered in 2018

Prominent classic sire Empire Maker, who returned from Japan to stand in Kentucky starting with the 2016 breeding season, is set to have his first Gainesway-sired yearlings offered this summer.

Gainesway has released stud fees for its 2018 roster, and Tapit, the leading North American sire in 2014, 2015, and 2016, will again command a $300,000 fee and his book will be limited to 125 mares.

Empire Maker, sire of multiple champion Royal Delta and Triple Crown winner American Pharoah’s sire Pioneerof the Nile, has been repatriated from Japan and will stand the 2016 breeding season at Antony Beck’s Gainesway in Lexington. The 15-year-old stallion, who was sold to Japanese interests in 2010, will stand at Gainesway in an equal partnership with the Solari family’s Don Alberto Corporation.
